Structural Modifications of Sodium Polyacrylate-Polyacrylamide to Enhance Its Water Absorption Rate

چکیده

Superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) can absorb a large amount of water and find broad applications in various industries. There are many reports on the synthesis structural modification techniques to improve absorption property SAPs. However, we see few studies comparison integration these techniques. In this study, three structurally modified SAPs were synthesized evaluated for effects surface cross-linking, foaming, two modifications rate capacity conventional SAP. First, sodium polyacrylate-polyacrylamide was prepared as base polymer by aqueous solution polymerization method. Second, with cross-linking enhance absorption, cross-linked SAP obtained. Third, foaming obtain foamed Lastly, further polymer, their performance. Results show that performance could be improved processes. Specifically, had best under load, highest 1954 g/g, fastest an initial swelling Kis = 21.94.

Mechanical, Swelling, and Structural Properties of Mechanically Tough Clay-Sodium Polyacrylate Blend Hydrogels

We investigated the mechanical, swelling, and structural properties of mechanically tough clay/sodium polyacrylate (PAAS) hydrogels prepared by simple mixing. The gels had large swelling ratios, reflecting the characteristics of the constituent polymer. The swelling ratios initially increased with the increase of the swelling time, and then attained maximum values. Afterwards, they decreased wi...

Effects of sodium polyacrylate on water retention and infiltration capacity of a sandy soil

Based on the laboratory study, the effects of sodium polyacrylate (SP) was investigated at 5 rates of 0, 0.08, 0.2, 0.5, and 1%, on water retention, saturated hydraulic conductivity(Ks), infiltration characteristic and water distribution profiles of a sandy soil. The results showed that water retention and available water capacity effectively increased with increasing SP rate. The Ks and the ra...

Water and sodium absorption by the intestine in cholera.

How the copious diarrhoea in acute cholera is produced is poorly understood. It may be due to overproduction of fluid normally entering the gastrointestinal tract, to failure of reabsorption of the normal volume of such fluid, or to a combination of both defects (Watten, Morgan, Songkhla, Vanikiati, and Phillips, 1959). The demonstration of an inhibitor of sodium transport, using shortcircuited...

Diffusion coefficients of sodium dodecyl sulfate in water swollen cross-linked polyacrylamide membranes

Diffusion of aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) across cross-linked polyacrylamide hydrogel membranes has been studied by electrical conductivity measurements. Initial rapid sorption of SDS (as unimer) into the membranes is observed. The effect of SDS concentration, and of cross-linker fraction on the degree of swelling of the gels is studied and associated with binding of the surfactant to t...

Structural differences of prebiotic oligosaccharides influence their capability to enhance iron absorption in deficient rats.

This study evaluates the influence of novel galacto-oligosaccharides derived from lactulose (GOS-Lu), kojibiose or 4'-galactosyl-kojibiose in hematological parameters of Fe homeostasis using Fe-deficient animals. Liver TfR-2, IL-6, NFκB and PPAR-γ expression (mRNA) were also determined by RT-qPCR analyses, and active hepcidin peptide production and short chain fatty acids by LC coupled to MS/MS...
